I picked one up about two weeks ago and am in no style disappointed. I was able to record stereo rhythm guitars, bass, star and background vocal, and a guitar solo and cause TASCAM DP-008 them into a nice commingle with reverb afterward simply a mates of fast glances at the manual. The DP-008 is slowly to use, sounds great, and a perfect songwriting and recitation tool.
Everything records to an SD card – it can have up to a 32GB card, although there aren’t any approved 32GB cards appearing on Tascam’s list of tested media on their website. And I couldn’t detect any of the 16GB cards they recommended either. I did observe an approved 8GB card and am utilising that until I can interchange it with a 32. (I should cite that the DP-008 comes with a 2GB card properly in the box.)
No subject what you’re up to musically, there’s got to be some good employment you can construct out of one of these babies. If you’re just getting started in multi-track recording, this is a corking situation to beginning – and I recommend spending the additional money, if you may afford it, to get this 8-track rather than the 4-track version that Tascam too makes. And eve if you’re a pro engineer, you’ll find this handy, fun and the perfect songwriting or exercise tool.
It doesn’t matter much, therefore you’ll motive to be careful where and how you situation it when you’re recording – I could easily see it flight snuff a desk or table if you construct a wrong movement while you’ve became a guitar or headphones hooked up to it. And it’ll positioned you back another $20 or so, but I consider it’s a good thought to pick up the optional AC adaptor, too.
